About Me
My name is Madeline Ho. I am currently a student at Cal Poly Humboldt, studying Filmmaking and Scientific Scuba Diving. I came to Humboldt for Oceanography but switched to filmmaking after freshman year. I have always loved the ocean and all the creatures that live there, and I wanted to do something to help protect them. I thought going into oceanography was my best chance. Still, I found that I struggled a lot with math, so I added science classes one after another, and the number of classes needed per semester to graduate in 4 years. So I thought long and hard about what I love doing and knew I lived for documenting the world around me with videos and photos. I learned that Humboldt had a film major, so I jumped on the opportunity and switched. The end goal was still the same, just within a different field. The goal was and still is to work at National Geographic as an Oceanographer, but now just as a filmmaker/photographer creating documentaries.
